Project Overview

Previously, we shared the construction-start photos of this Thornhill interior renovation project. After three weeks of smooth and efficient work, the project has now been successfully completed. Today, we’re excited to share the final photos and project notes. Homeowner’s Request This property is located in Thornhill near Bathurst Street and Highway 7, with a total area of approximately 3,800 sqft. Due to the outdated previous renovation, the bathrooms felt dark and visually cramped. The homeowner’s main goal was to create brighter, cleaner spaces with larger and more comfortable shower areas. Layout The overall bathroom layouts were largely retained. The key adjustment was made in the primary ensuite, where the toilet position was relocated and the shower area was expanded into a clean, square layout. By replacing the original drywall enclosure with glass panels, the visual openness of the space was significantly improved. This approach clearly demonstrates that even without major layout changes, switching from drywall to glass can dramatically enhance the sense of space in a shower area. Color Palette A light gray wall finish was selected throughout the bathrooms for its versatility and timeless appeal, complemented by black hardware for contrast. The primary ensuite vanity features the Fashion Grey color scheme. Additional recessed lighting was installed to further improve overall brightness and clarity. Shower Fixtures All shower systems and faucets are from Riobel, a brand known for its strong balance of quality, design, and value. Richmond Hill Interior Renovation

Richmond Hill Interior Renovation

This interior renovation is a comprehensive European-style residential project encompassing the kitchen, living room, dining area, entry hall, corridors, and shared transitional spaces. Rather than relying on decorative layering, the design is structured around architectural proportion, axial alignment, and a consistent system of classical detailing. Public spaces are organized along clear visual axes, where doorways, hallways, and primary rooms are carefully aligned to guide movement and establish spatial order. Wall panelling, door casings, and ceiling transitions are executed within a unified architectural language, ensuring consistency in scale and detailing throughout the interior. The entry hall and circulation areas emphasize symmetry and material balance, creating a composed and formal arrival sequence. The kitchen features custom European-style cabinetry with full-height elevations, a bespoke hood surround, and stone countertops, balancing functional efficiency with architectural completeness. Living and dining spaces are anchored by key structural elements, including a marble fireplace, coffered ceiling, and crystal chandelier, which define spatial hierarchy and vertical emphasis. Overall, this renovation reflects a disciplined approach to European interior design, prioritizing structure, craftsmanship, and long-term residential quality within a high-end Richmond Hill home.
