This 3,000 sqft new home in Aurora was originally delivered with clean builder-grade finishes—functional, but lacking the level of detail and usability many homeowners expect. As an experienced Toronto renovation company, Reno Compass approached this project with a clear strategy: preserve the solid structure, and elevate the most impactful areas through targeted upgrades rather than full reconstruction. The kitchen became the focal point of the transformation. By introducing a large waterfall island, full-height custom cabinetry, and built-in appliances, the space now offers significantly improved storage, workflow, and visual clarity. Every element was designed to balance practicality with a refined, cohesive look. Across the main floor, continuous wood flooring and a simplified layout enhance spatial flow, making the home feel more open and connected. The living area features a modern fireplace wall paired with built-in shelving and subtle lighting, creating a warm yet structured atmosphere. A dedicated mud room was also incorporated to improve everyday organization. With custom cabinetry, a seating bench, and defined storage zones, the entryway now functions as an efficient transition space that keeps the rest of the home clutter-free. To further elevate the interior, a coffered ceiling (also known as a waffle ceiling) was introduced, adding depth and architectural interest without overcomplicating the design. Rather than a full-scale renovation, this project demonstrates how strategic upgrades can significantly enhance both functionality and overall living experience—an approach increasingly preferred by homeowners across the GTA.
