Today we’re sharing a full home renovation project located in Markham. The scope of work included a complete kitchen renovation, four bathrooms, flooring, staircase upgrades, and a full basement renovation. With the exception of the kitchen and the primary bathroom, which involved structural layout changes, the original floor plan of the home was largely preserved. Kitchen From the original before condition, the kitchen featured a compact U-shaped layout with limited storage and workspace. The island was undersized and did not support daily cooking or gathering needs. Renovation Approach: We reconfigured the kitchen by extending the cabinetry toward the patio door and converting the layout into an L-shape. A large 5’ × 10’ oversized island was added, complete with dual waterfall edges. The backsplash material was also extended up the main cabinetry wall, creating a clean, cohesive look with a strong sense of understated luxury. Bathrooms The original bathrooms featured relatively small shower areas, while the bathtubs occupied a disproportionate amount of space. Renovation Approach: Interior partition walls were removed to expand the shower zones and improve overall usability. A refined color palette of soft grey, warm off-white, and wood textures was selected to balance warmth, brightness, and modern simplicity. Flooring & Staircase The flooring was upgraded with Vidar 8-inch engineered hardwood, paired with Aria flush-mounted air vents, ensuring a seamless and elevated finish throughout the home.
