Today, we’d like to share a recently completed full home renovation project in Markham. Layout: The main floor layout was reconfigured by removing partition walls, transforming the living area into an open-concept space (Images 2 and 3). This change significantly improved natural light flow and spatial connectivity. Kitchen: In the kitchen, a floor-to-ceiling window was resized, allowing the kitchen layout to be extended and elongated. This adjustment greatly increased usable counter and workspace, making the kitchen more practical and functional for everyday use (Image 4). Bathroom: The original cramped 4-piece bathroom was reconfigured into a 3-piece layout. The single-sink vanity was upgraded to a double-sink vanity, and the shower area was expanded to improve comfort and usability. While many homeowners are hesitant to give up a bathtub, this change clearly outperforms the previous crowded 4-piece layout in terms of functionality and comfort. Full credit goes to the homeowner for making such a smart and well-considered decision — truly a case of “less is more” (Image 6). Overall Design: The overall color palette of the home remains understated, without excessive decorative elements. However, the final result feels warm, comfortable, and inviting, creating a space that is both livable and timeless.
