The original kitchen reflected a strong 1980s–1990s aesthetic with a traditional layout and limited spacing between work areas. Storage capacity was insufficient, and the overall design did not accommodate common Chinese cooking habits. Dark-colored cabinetry made the space feel smaller, enclosed, and lacking in vitality.
For this renovation, the kitchen location remained unchanged, while the layout was transformed into an open-concept design. Bright, modern cabinetry was introduced to improve visual openness while significantly enhancing storage capacity, creating a kitchen that is both functional and inviting for everyday cooking.
Kitchen Layout
The kitchen was redesigned into a U-shaped layout to maximize efficiency while maintaining a sense of openness. The range hood area was kept visually clean with open space on both sides, allowing the full-height countertop backsplash to create a seamless and cohesive look. Glass upper cabinets with integrated LED lighting were installed on both sides, improving brightness and adding visual depth to the space.
Storage & Functionality
To enhance storage and practicality, two spice rack units were installed on both sides of the cooktop for easy access to oils, sauces, and seasonings. The kitchen also features a built-in garbage system and a corner cabinet solution, significantly increasing overall storage efficiency and daily usability.
