The kitchen became the focal point of the transformation. By introducing a large waterfall island, full-height custom cabinetry, and built-in appliances, the space now offers significantly improved storage, workflow, and visual clarity. Every element was designed to balance practicality with a refined, cohesive look. Across the main floor, continuous wood flooring and a simplified layout enhance spatial flow, making the home feel more open and connected. Based on our experience with old home renovations in Toronto, we approached this project with a focus on structural upgrades, system redesign, and long-term investment value. The basement underwent full underpinning and foundation reinforcement to increase ceiling height and meet legal requirements. We redesigned the entire layout to create three self-contained units, each with functional living space, proper ventilation, and efficient heating and cooling systems. Electrical and plumbing systems were fully upgraded to comply with current building codes.
