Today we’re sharing a recently completed Richmond Hill renovation project featuring upgrades to the kitchen, bathroom, and staircase. Kitchen Area From the before photos, you can see that the kitchen originally had a decent amount of space. However, it felt dark and smaller than it actually was, mainly due to an inefficient storage room layout and insufficient lighting. Another contributing factor was the original small-format floor tiles. Renovation Tip: If your budget allows, we recommend choosing floor tiles larger than 24" × 24". Larger tiles visually expand the space and are also much easier to maintain. Kitchen floor tile: OV.ET.IGY.3636.MT Cabinet material: Painted MDF Color codes: OC117 (main cabinets) and HC68 (kitchen island) Appliances: Range hood: Robam Toronto Cooktop: Fotile Canada Countertop The countertop selection features a bright white slab with bold veining, extended up the wall as a backsplash. Here’s a small design tip: when choosing a full-height slab backsplash and the space allows, try not to install upper cabinets all the way across. Leaving space on both sides of the range hood gives the stone more room to shine and creates a better visual display. A slab backsplash truly delivers an impressive final result. Bathroom We’ve shared many bathroom renovation projects before, so we won’t go into too much detail here. Instead, we’ll directly share the tile information.
