Project Overview

How many wishes can one basement fulfill? A bar, pool table area, home gym, and a private home theatre — all in one space. With the Christmas holidays just around the corner, imagine inviting a few friends over, enjoying a couple of drinks, playing pool, and ending the night with a movie. Pure perfection. Today, we’re excited to share a recently completed basement renovation project designed entirely around entertainment and lifestyle. Layout This basement spans 1,790 sq ft with a 9-ft ceiling height. The overall design follows an open-concept layout, featuring a 3-piece bathroom, fitness area, pool and entertainment zone, dual bars, and a dedicated home theatre. Bar Area Thanks to the generous size of the basement, we designed two bar areas. The main bar with an island is located near the home theatre and pool area, making it ideal for hosting guests. The second bar is placed in the fitness area for convenience during workouts. A dual-bar setup truly doubles the fun. Bathroom A basement wouldn’t be complete without a 3-piece bathroom. Gold-tone fixtures were selected to add a touch of elegance and contrast. Pool & Fitness Area A three-sided electric fireplace was installed beside the pool table as a visual focal point, paired with cement-tone background tiles. In the gym area, we added two custom fitness mirrors — one for adults and one for kids — along with a ceiling-mounted TV, making workouts and entertainment possible at the same time. Home Theatre Lighting Lighting plays a key role in any home theatre. To enhance the cinematic and modern feel, we installed embedded LED lighting across the ceiling and walls in an irregular pattern. The connected ceiling-to-wall LED design significantly elevates the tech vibe. Six wall sconces were also added to provide soft illumination without affecting the viewing experience. The walls of the theatre are finished in deep ocean blue to minimize light reflection and improve visual performance. For flooring, carpet is a must in any home theatre. Compared to hard flooring, carpet offers better sound absorption, improved acoustics, and a much more comfortable underfoot feel. 📋 Material List Bar Cabinets: AGT 728 Vanity: AGT 728 Interior Doors: Three Panel Door Home Theatre Door: Five Panel Barn Door Home Theatre Carpet: Sultana II Home Theatre Wall Sconces: Page One – Pandora Box

Toronto Interior Design Service | Aurora New Home Upgrade Project

Toronto Interior Design Service | Aurora New Home Upgrade Most newly built homes in Toronto are delivered with standard builder finishes. While functional, these spaces often lack thoughtful layout, storage planning, and cohesive design. This Aurora 3000 sqft. home upgrade project, completed by Reno Compass, focuses on interior design-driven improvements — transforming a basic layout into a refined and highly functional living space. Design Approach Instead of simply upgrading finishes, this project began with a full interior design strategy. The goal was to enhance both usability and visual harmony across the home. Key Design Highlights 1. Kitchen Layout Optimization The kitchen was redesigned to improve workflow and maximize usability. A large island was introduced as the central feature, providing both workspace and social interaction. Full-height cabinetry enhances storage while maintaining a clean and seamless look. 2. Custom Built-in Storage Design Throughout the home, custom cabinetry was implemented to solve common new home limitations. From the living room feature wall to the mudroom entry system, each storage solution was designed to balance function and aesthetics. 3. Coffered Ceiling Enhancement A coffered ceiling was added to elevate the overall spatial experience. This architectural detail brings depth, structure, and a more finished look to the main living area. 4. Functional Space Planning Special attention was given to everyday usability — optimizing movement flow, improving entryway efficiency, and ensuring each area supports modern living needs. Why Interior Design Matters for New Homes Many homeowners assume a new house is “move-in ready.” However, without proper interior design: Storage is often insufficient Layout may not suit daily routines Spaces lack visual depth and identity Professional interior design services help bridge that gap — turning a standard house into a personalized, livable home. Design Summary This project embraces a soft cream and wood-toned aesthetic, creating a warm, modern, and timeless environment. It demonstrates how thoughtful interior design can significantly enhance both comfort and property value. Location: Toronto Contractor: Reno Compass Inc.

Toronto New Home Upgrade Renovation | Aurora 3000 sqft Case

This 3,000 sqft new home in Aurora was originally delivered with clean builder-grade finishes—functional, but lacking the level of detail and usability many homeowners expect. As an experienced Toronto renovation company, Reno Compass approached this project with a clear strategy: preserve the solid structure, and elevate the most impactful areas through targeted upgrades rather than full reconstruction. The kitchen became the focal point of the transformation. By introducing a large waterfall island, full-height custom cabinetry, and built-in appliances, the space now offers significantly improved storage, workflow, and visual clarity. Every element was designed to balance practicality with a refined, cohesive look. Across the main floor, continuous wood flooring and a simplified layout enhance spatial flow, making the home feel more open and connected. The living area features a modern fireplace wall paired with built-in shelving and subtle lighting, creating a warm yet structured atmosphere. A dedicated mud room was also incorporated to improve everyday organization. With custom cabinetry, a seating bench, and defined storage zones, the entryway now functions as an efficient transition space that keeps the rest of the home clutter-free. To further elevate the interior, a coffered ceiling (also known as a waffle ceiling) was introduced, adding depth and architectural interest without overcomplicating the design. Rather than a full-scale renovation, this project demonstrates how strategic upgrades can significantly enhance both functionality and overall living experience—an approach increasingly preferred by homeowners across the GTA.
